Desiré joined the company in
2000, was promoted in 2003 to Principal Artist, and continues
to command the admiration of audiences and critics alike.
This season Desire will dance the role of Evolved Being, Etra
in A Sleeping Beauty Tale and Milady in The Three Musketeers.

Born: South Africa.
Trained: University of Cape Town Ballet School.
Previous Companies: Cape Town City Ballet
and City Ballet of London.
Favourite Roles: Lead roles in Carmen and
Camille, Phrygia, Spartacus, Juliet, Romeo & Juliet. More
recently roles in I Got Rhythm and Lambarena.
Career Highlights: Nomination as Outstanding
Female Artist the 2003 National Dance Awards.
Guest Performances: A fundraising gala at
the Mayor of London’s residence and the 70th Anniversary
Gala of Cape Town City Ballet
Personal: Married to former NBT principal
dancer Jonathan Byrne Ollivier.
